Obituary for Alice Marie Constantine

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Virginia. Officiant will be Pastor Brad Felix. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Cherry/Clinton Cemetery.

Alice M. Constantine, 80, of Cherry died at home on the farm on Saturday, July 21, 2018. She was born in Angora on November 3, 1937 to Ward and Segnora Kassow. Alice was a graduate of Eveleth High School. She married George Constantine on June 25, 1955. While George was stationed in the U.S. Armed Forces, they resided in Fort Meade, Maryland from 1956 – 1957. They returned to Iron and operated Sonny’s Grocery for two years, before moving to Forbes where they operated a dairy and beef farm for George’s uncle. They then moved to Cherry, where they operated a dairy farm for many years, later going into beef farming. Alice had beef cows until 2017. Throughout Alice’s lifetime, she had many interests and accomplishments with her husband; such as, 710 school district, Cherry Picken Time, catering, A & G Processing Plant, Cherry football lights and raising/slaughtering chickens.

Alice’s greatest enjoyment in life was having all her family and friends gathered around the kitchen table enjoying some good food, great conversations and a good game of cards. She loved spending time in the garden, mowing the lawn and operating the farm equipment.

She is survived by her children, Randy (Becky) Constantine, Gregory (Connie) Constantine, Mark (Sheila) Constantine, Mary Jo (Martin) Flaschberger and Lauri Ann (Kent) Gunderson; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Georgene Finberg of California and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Constantine (2006); parents; sisters, Dorothy Whyte of California and Arlene Brighten of Illinois.
