Obituary for William "Bill" Kilbride

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 30, 2017 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Eveleth. Celebrant will be Fr. Eamonn Boland. Visitation will be one hour before. Inurnment will be in Eveleth Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by Mesaba Range VFW Post # 1172 of Eveleth.

William “Bill” Kilbride, 87, of Arizona and formerly of Eveleth, died Monday, February 6, 2017 in Tempe, Arizona. He was born on September 4, 1929 in Duluth to Raymond and Marcella (Cogley) Kilbride. Bill was a 1947 graduate of Eveleth High School, attended Eveleth Junior College and obtained his degree in accounting from UMD. He was an Army veteran, having served with the Corp of Engineering during the Korean War. Bill worked for American Appraisal in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for 25 years, retiring in 1984. Following his retirement, he did freelance appraising in the 1980’s and 1990’s and had resided in Eveleth, Mesa and Tuscan, Arizona. Bill was an avid golfer, duck hunter and trap shooter, belonging to the Virginia Trap Club. He was a true blue Minnesota Vikings fan. Bill also enjoyed walking, reading and loved music. He had a wonderful singing voice. Bill was a loving and loved brother, son, uncle and friend.

He is survived by brother, Jim (Ann) Kilbride of Chisholm; sister, Janet (Brad) Salmi of Biwabik and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, godson and nephew, Kevin Salmi and nephew, Thomas Joseph Kilbride.
