Obituary for Rosemary Kangas

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2016 at Resurrection Catholic Church, Eveleth. Fr. Michael Garry will be celebrant. Visitation will be one hour before at the church. Rosemary Kangas, 71, of Eveleth, died Friday, October 21, 2016 at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, with her family by her side of natural causes. She was born on May 15, 1945, in Breckenridge, MN to Vincent and Rosella (Faust) Bernard. Rosemary was a Cherry High School graduate and a longtime Eveleth resident. Rosemary was married to Ross Josephson in 1966 until his death in 1976. Rosemary worked as a cook for many years at the Deluxe Café in Eveleth retiring in 2007. She was united in marriage to Dale R. Kangas on November 25, 1978 in Eveleth. Rosemary loved her family and her 3 grandchildren and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. Rosemary especially was proud of cooking for her family specializing in her homemade soups and pasties. She also enjoyed spending the winters with her husband Dale in Mission, Texas.

She is survived by her husband Dale, her children, Michael (Barbara Schmidt) Josephson, Cathy (John) Rinne, Eric ( Gina Trucano) Josephson; 3 grandchildren, Dante Josephson, Zachary and Emily Rinne; 7 siblings, Robert, Bernadette, Lucy, Madonna, Angie, Dan, Bill, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Helen, her first husband, Ross Josephson and one brother Ed.
