Obituary for Rose Ann Kerzinski

A private funeral will be held at Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home, Eveleth. Celebrant will be Fr. Frank Perkovich. Burial will be in Eveleth Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth for the excellent care provided to their mother.

Rose A. Kerzinski, 83, of Eveleth died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. She was born on August 23, 1934 in Eveleth to Floyd and Mary (Rannikar) Masucci. Rose attended Eveleth schools and had worked as a seamstress at Cluett-Peabody Shirt Factory and as an operator for Northwestern Bell in Eveleth. She was united in marriage to Edward Kerzinski on January 23, 1954 in Eveleth. Following their marriage, they made their home on Ely Lake in Fayal Township where she loved her flowers, gardening and family gatherings. It was there that she was a homemaker and shared her fantastic cooking and baking, especially potica. Rose returned to Eveleth in July of 2003. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son, Edward of Duluth; daughters, Alice (Ron) Blakesley of Gilbert and Cheryl (Patrick) Doran of Embarrass; grandson, Adam Blakesley of Gilbert; brother, Peter Masucci; sisters, Jeanette “Mickey” Altobell, Joan J. Masucci, Patricia (Cyril) Beaudette; Paulette Hall and Mary Little all of Eveleth and Christine Lang of Champlin, Mn and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel on September 21, 1992; her husband, Edward on September 14, 1999 and her parents.
