Visitation will begin at noon. Military Honors will be accorded by George and Mark Klobuchar, VFW #4456, Gilbert. Inurnment will be at a later date in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Little Canada, MN.

Keith Parks, 84, of Gilbert, died Wednesday, November 23, 2016 after a short stay in St. Raphael’s Health & Rehabilitation Center in Eveleth. With his hands and eyes raised to Heaven at the last moment, we are comforted to know he was welcomed into the Glory of our Lord, meeting our mom and others he loved.

Keith was born on July 3, 1932, in Iron River, Michigan to Cecil and Emily (Treloar) Parks. He married Darlene Kriesch in Iron River and then spent four years in the Navy, stationed in San Diego and Kodiak, Alaska during the Korean War.

A UP Michigan transplant, he lived in Eveleth where he raised his family, with a short stint in California and Little Canada, MN, moving to Gilbert for the last years of his life. Dad spent 15 winters in AZ, enjoying time with his niece, Lorraine and family, as well as time away from the snow and cold.

Working as a mechanic, carpenter and owner of Parks & Sons construction business kept him busy supporting his family and building homes for many. Dad loved life to the fullest and was always planning, creating, scheming and dreaming, even his last few days of life. Helping us with building and other projects was always a priority. Fishing and camping with his children and grandkids brought him great joy. A strong figure in our family, he will be missed and is deeply loved.

He is survived by his children, Shad (Debbie) Parks, Shawn (Kathy) Parks, Shane Parks, Shannon (Mike) Mickelson, Sherokee (David) Ilse; ten grandchildren, Jeremy (Crystal), Josh (Tara), Ashley (John), Brandon (Kara), Ryan (Mariaha), Katie, Krystal (Ken), Alex, Katia, Kellan (Candra), Trevor (Marie), Holly, Krystle, Becky; 9 great-grandchildren; niece, Lorraine (Ken) Burke and their daughter, Emily of Black Canyon, AZ and special friend, Lorraine Turnham.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Melba; niece, Pearl; wife, Darlene and grandson, Brennan.
