Obituary for Dawn Marie Anderson

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Eveleth. Celebrant will be Fr. Charles P. Flynn. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:-00 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 6:30 p.m., Monday in Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home, Eveleth. Visitation will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. Inurnment will be in Eveleth Cemetery.

Dawn M. Anderson, 74, of Eveleth, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Guardian Angels Health & Rehabilitation Center in Hibbing. She was born on January 30, 1943 in Virginia. Dawn graduated from Eveleth High School and attended Eveleth Junior College. She was united in marriage to Robert C. Anderson on November 30, 1963 at the former Immaculate Conception Church in Eveleth. Following their marriage, they lived in Mt. Iron, Virginia, Illinois and Oklahoma before returning to Eveleth. Dawn had worked as a sales clerk for Herberger’s; at the former Arrowhead Nursing Home; as a salad cook at the former Sweden House; bartended at the Deluxe Café and Nick’s Bar and cleaned homes for various people.

Dawn was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church and Auxiliary to George & Mark Klobuchar VFW #4456 of Gilbert. She was a great potica maker, enjoyed sewing, knitting, making Christmas cookies, gardening, having coffee on the deck with her hummingbirds, traveling to Hawaii every year with her sister, going to the casinos with her girlfriends and visiting with people.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; son, Michael (Abbey) of Grand Forks, ND; sister, Nanci Gams and brother, Fred Jr. (Debra) Gams both of Eveleth; very close friend, Linda Shykes of Ely Lake and nephews, Lance Gams and Fred Gams III.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Gams Sr., mother, Mae and brother, Gene.
