She was a 1956 graduate of Eveleth High School and attended Eveleth Junior College. Following school, she was employed by the Eveleth School District doing clerical work. Barbara was united in marriage to John Joseph Turk on June 3, 1966. While raising her family she returned to work at the Eveleth School District in food services until she retired in 1995. She loved watching all sports with hockey and football being her favorites. She herself loved to swim and ice skate, participating in the Eveleth skating club for many years. She dearly loved animals and was a loyal supporter of the ASPCA, World Wild Life Fund (WWF) and the Humane Society. Barbara loved her family and friends dearly and spent as much time with them as she could including many family trips and annual gatherings with her high school classmates. Anybody who knew Barb knows how much she loved the 4th of July in Eveleth!
