Obituary for Arnold C. "Nails" Krueger Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Heritage Trail Bible Church in McKinley. Pastor Mike Wefel will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before at the church. A luncheon will follow in the church social hall. The family would like to thank his caregivers; Recover Health, Home Instead, Essentia Health Hospice, St. Raphael’s and Connie, Sharon, Lynn and Jenna.

Arnold C. “Nails” Krueger Jr., 81, formerly of Embarrass, MN, died Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at St. Raphael’s Health & Rehabilitation Center in Eveleth. He was born on February 20, 1936 in Hibbing to Arnold C. and Lillian M. (Falbo) Krueger, Sr. Arnold graduated from Keewatin High School and received his degree from Dunwoody Institute. He was united in marriage to Darlene D. Schenkey on September 15, 1957 in Keewatin for 59 years.

He worked for LTV Mining Co. for 44 years as a rubber repairman. His two favorite subjects he discussed with everyone were politics and his Savior Jesus Christ and being “born again”. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always lending a helping hand. His interests included making furniture, tinkering in his garage, collecting stuff from model cars to antique ones and searching for treasures.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene and 7 children, Steven (Rose) Krueger, Richard (Karin) Krueger, Diane (Dick Pirnat) Krueger-Pirnat, Tracy (Dick) Oksanen, Robert (Laurel) Krueger, Kenneth (Lisa) Krueger, Teresa LeForte; 13 grandchildren, Kyle and Cassie Krueger, Carson and Kevin Krueger, Bobby and Aaron Appledorn, Christen Spaeth, Chaz Norkunas, Kayla, Karly and Kiana Krueger, Carson Refsdal, Buckley LeForte; 20 great- grandchildren; brother, Gerald Krueger; sister, Charlene (David) Gunelson and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Koski; father, Arnold C. Krueger Sr.; step-father, Arthur Koski and sisters, Larolyn Radell and Annette Krznarich.
