MARGARET A. “MARGE” LENICH
Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Resurrection Catholic Church, Eveleth with Rev. Charles P. Flynn as officiant. Visitation will be one hour before the mass at the church. Inurnment will be in Eveleth Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home, Eveleth. Memorials may be directed to Resurrection Church Building Fund.
Marge A. Lenich, 85, of Eveleth died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Virginia Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Virginia, Minnesota on January 22, 1925 to Joseph and Jennie (Russ) Sostarich. Marge was a graduate of Eveleth High School, class of 1942. She was united in marriage to Rudy A. Lenich on February 7, 1948, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Eveleth. Marge worked for U.S. Maritime Commission during World War II, the More Clinic and Gilson Drug. She was active in the class of 1942 reunions, a member of SNPJ Lodge#268, Resurrection Catholic Church, the former St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and Mt. Iron Seniors. Marge enjoyed knitting club, cooking and polka music.
She is survived by her sons, Mike (Liz) Lenich of Eveleth and their children, Charles (Melissa Giersdorf) and Carolyn; David Lenich of Cook and his children, Sara, Mary, Hannah, Abby and Julia; great granddaughter, Sophie Elizabeth; former daughters-in-law, Kathy Wiita-Lenich of Virginia and Sue Lenich of Britt; brother, Walt Sostarich of Cottage Grove, Mn., nieces, nephews, recent caregivers, Pam Hartline, Kathy Wiita-Lenich and will be missed by many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Donald, sister, Elizabeth in infancy, husband Rudy in 1992 and granddaughter Jessica in 1999.
